The iconic Dancehall Queen confirmed the news via a post on her Instagram page. Sources told Urban Islandz that the late Ms. Isaacs died last Friday at the age of 85 years old. “She was 85, and she fell ill two weeks ago,” Carlene’s publicist Angela Thame said.
“January 18, 2019, @ 8:00 pm Jamaican time, my beautiful mother had passed away,” DHQ Carlene wrote. “This is the saddest day of my life. The pain I am feeling right now is inexplicable. Mommy, we will be together again, and I know that you are in heaven watching over me. I love you!”
Dancehall Queen Carlene is one of the most iconic females in dancehall’s history. She helped shape the culture after rising to fame in the early 1990s as the first Dancehall Queen. Her legacy is still visible in popularly dancehall culture today.
