Spice “I Feel Humiliated” After Getting Harsh Criticism For Rio Athletes Performance

Dancehall entertainer SPICE blasted over video with underage (VIDEO)

Spice is defending herself from harsh criticisms following her raunchy performance at last weekend’s event in celebration for the Jamaican Olympic athletes.
The dancehall diva performed in front of a crowd of elites including Prime Minister Andrew Holness, his wife Juliet Holness, Governor General Patrick Allen, and several athletes like Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake, Asafa Powell, and Shelly-Ann Fraser.
A sense of uneasiness grew among some guests shortly after spice took the stage to perform her singles “Indicator” and “So Me Like It.” During an interview with TVJ last night, Spice says she felt humiliated following her performance.
“I always hear they say that some people don’t accept our dancehall culture but this is the first time I am experiencing that,” Spice said. “It’s the first time I am experiencing such humiliation and that’s really what I felt.”
Spice also added that if she had prior knowledge that was going to be the case she could have adjusted her performance.

“I continue to defend myself and my DJ @richiefeelings1 who they claim brought a cd that wasn’t working but we never brought any cd at all to the venue he was playing directly from his laptop smh #StrongblackWoman continues to fight for my rights #FreeDancehall it’s our culture,” Spice wrote on IG.

Despite getting some stinging criticism from some quarters of Jamaica, she is also getting a lot of support from some of her dancehall peers and even from Culture Minister Olivia “Babsy” Grange.

“I don’t think Spice being on the show created a problem,” Grange said. “Dancehall is very much a part of the genre of Jamaican music that is popular. It’s just an experience for her. I think it’s a learning experience and she will grow.”
