Reggae singer Nesbeth is furious with the Youth View Awards after loosing out a covetous trophy to Vybz Kartel.
Nesbeth stormed out of the 2017 YVA on Saturday night at the National Indoor Sports Arena in Kingston. The singer’s smash hit single “My Dream” was nominated for Favorite Local Chart Topping Song of the Year, but Vybz Kartel eventually won that category and went on to dominate the entire awards taking home five trophies.
Nesbeth and some of his fans were furious while calling into question the authenticity of the YVA. “I just left the YVA award and let me tell you the reason for me to leave out there,” Nesbeth said in a video posted on IG. “I can’t imagine how YVA have the chart topping local song and they did not give ‘My Dream’ that award, something is not right. My fans complain about trying to vote and all of that and this is an award for the youths.”
